Sowing Seeds of Hope cancels Old Howard 100 due to coronavirus

In order to protect the health of our riders and volunteers in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, Sowing Seeds of Hope has chosen to cancel this year’s Old Howard 100. We are disappointed that we won’t be able to host the event this year, but we hope to welcome you back to Marion next spring. Our plan is to add a 5K to our regular 30, 45, 75, and 100 mile bike routes.  Please mark your calendars for April 17, 2021.

We decided to cancel this year’s ride rather than postpone it for two reasons:

    1. We anticipate that the Alabama cycling calendar will be very full once all the other postponed events are rescheduled.
    2. All of us at Sowing Seeds of Hope need to focus fully on helping the Perry County community at this time.

If you are financially able to do so, please consider donating what you would have spent on your registration fee to support Sowing Seeds of Hope’s response to needs created by the coronavirus in Perry County, which include prevention education, community screening, and meeting basic needs, including providing free lunch for children who were unexpectedly out of school due to COVID-19.  Click here to make an online donation.
