Lunches for Perry County Children

As our local public school system creates a sustainable solution for students, Sowing Seeds of Hope is partnering with local churches to distribute sack lunches to Perry County children who are out of school due to the COVID-19 response.

If your child needs a lunch, you may call Sowing Seeds of Hope at 683-4666 or fill out the online form to reserve a lunch at one of the pickup sites.

Lunches will be available for registered children at these times and locations:

  • Uniontown First Baptist Church, 10:00-12:00
  • Eagle Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 1:00-3:00
  • Providence Baptist Church, 1:00-3:00

Children must be registered by phone by 4:00 pm or registered online by 10:00 pm to receive lunch the following day. Lunches will be available only on weekdays. Children may only receive a lunch at their selected site.

Because very few families picked up lunches from the North Perry, East Perry, and West Perry/East Hale Volunteer Fire Departments or Morning Star and Friendship Baptist Churches during the first week of the program, we have closed these sites. If you previously registered at one of these sites, please contact us at 334-683-4666 to make other arrangements.

If you previously registered your children, but they no longer need a lunch, please contact us so we can remove them from the list. This will allow us to better use our resources to help as many families as possible.

If you would like to volunteer to help with distribution, please call Sowing Seeds of Hope. Volunteers must not have fever or other symptoms of COVID-19 and must not have come into contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19. It is recommended that individuals over 60 not assist with distribution.

Lunch will be coordinated by the Perry County school system beginning on March 30. Please contact your child’s school or the Perry County Board of Education for information about times and locations.

Donations to support this project and other similar programs that assist families in our community are always welcome and would be appreciated.
