Sowing Seeds of Hope hosted a Mental Health First Aid training on April 17 that certified more than twenty Perry County residents. The training was funded through the Southwest Alabama Health Improvement Initiative (SWAHII).
Mental Health First Aid teaches participants how to recognize the signs of mental health challenges and substance use disorders and how to respond appropriately until professional help is available. The program equips community members with practical tools to support individuals experiencing a mental health crisis.
Trainings like these strengthen community awareness and help build networks of support that can respond more effectively to mental health needs.
By hosting programs that address both physical and mental well-being, Sowing Seeds of Hope demonstrates its ongoing emphasis on building a stronger, healthier Perry County community.
