Sowing Seeds of Hope Promotes Child Abuse Prevention Across Perry County

Sowing Seeds of Hope joined partners across the state of Alabama to raise awareness about protecting children and strengthening families during National Child Abuse Awareness Month, which falls in April each year.

Blue pinwheels, which serve as reminders of the importance of safe and supportive environments for children, and awareness signs were planted at locations across the county throughout the month. Educational materials for parents were distributed at various locations in Marion and Uniontown.

On April 11, Sowing Seeds of Hope hosted its annual Pinwheel Garden Planting Ceremony on the Perry County Courthouse Square in partnership with the Central Alabama Child Advocacy Center. Thirty-five people attended the ceremony, and the pinwheels will remain on the Courthouse Square for the remainder of April to draw further attention to issues related to child abuse and neglect.

Community events like these help highlight the role that prevention, education, and family support play in protecting children.
