Coronavirus resources and response in Perry County, Alabama: April 4

The Alabama Department of Public Health has reported the first confirmed case of COVID-19 in Perry County. As of 8:00 pm on April 4, there were four ADPH-confirmed cases in Bibb County, three in Hale County, eight in Marengo county, eleven in Wilcox County, seven in Dallas County, and fifteen in Chilton County.

If you have symptoms of COVID-19 or have been exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, please contact your health care provider. Testing continues to be offered at Vaughan Clinic for current patients who meet testing criteria. Cahaba Medical’s cough clinic in Marion is open to the general public, and testing is being provided there to those who meet criteria. Primary care providers at Rural Health in Marion or Uniontown can also evaluate patients to determine if they need testing, then provide a physician referral to a testing site. Testing is available at the Hale County Hospital in Greensboro, Whitfield Regional Hospital in Demopolis, and Main Street Urgent Care in Selma.

The Alabama Department of Public Health will offer free screening outside the Perry County Health Department from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm on Thursday, April 9. Individuals who meet ADPH criteria will be tested. Evaluation is by appointment only, and your healthcare provider must make the appointment for you.
