Sowing Seeds of Hope Hosts February Health Fair

Sowing Seeds of Hope hosted the Perry County Health Fair on February 7, 2026, at its facility in Marion, Alabama, providing free health screenings, wellness information, and family-friendly activities to community residents.

Held from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., the event offered blood pressure checks, blood sugar screenings, and A1C testing, giving attendees access to important health information at no cost. In addition to screenings, participants engaged in educational activities focused on nutrition, exercise, and overall wellness.

The health fair was supported by community partners, including the Rural Alabama Prevention Center (RAPC) and the Southwest Alabama Health Improvement Initiative (SWAHII), organizations that work to expand access to preventive care and improve health outcomes across the region.

Events like the health fairs that Sowing Seeds of Hope has been sponsoring for more than two decades help address barriers to care in rural communities by bringing resources directly to residents in an accessible and welcoming environment.

Sowing Seeds of Hope continues to expand access to health education and preventive services that support stronger, healthier communities in Perry County.
