Sowing Seeds of Hope hosted a USDA Housing Summit, organized by the Alabama USDA Rural Development office, on December 16. The event was designed connect Perry County residents with information about housing opportunities available through federal programs by giving them access to knowledgeable staff leaders that included State USDA Director Nivory Gordon.
United States Department of Agriculture Rural Development staff members shared information about rural housing loans and related programs that can help families build or purchase homes in rural communities. The event provided an opportunity for residents to ask questions and learn more about how these programs work.
Housing initiatives such as these play an important role in supporting long-term community development in rural Alabama. Sowing Seeds of Hope is proud to partner with USDA Rural Development to offer Perry County residents the opportunity to participate in the Mutual Self-Help Housing Program, which allows to construct new homes in the area.
