Sowing Seeds of Hope Partners with Spirit of St. Luke to Host Spring Event in Marion

Sowing Seeds of Hope partnered with the Spirit of St. Luke and other Alabama organizations to host a free community Health Fair on April 4, 2026, at the Ed Daniel Training Center in Marion, Alabama, offering essential services and family-friendly activities to area residents.

Held from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., the event provided free food, clothing, and basic medical resources, including blood pressure and blood sugar screenings conducted by healthcare professionals. These services helped reduce barriers to care and offered attendees immediate insight into their health.

Families also participated in seasonal activities, including Easter basket-building and photos with the Easter Bunny, creating an environment that combined wellness services with community engagement. Children’s activities were built around social-emotional learning components, which help children learn to better identify, communicate, and manage their thoughts and feelings.

Other partner organizations included the Southwest Alabama Health Improvement Initiative (SWAHII), Regional Area Planning Commission (RAPC), Perry County Healthcare Coordinator, Children’s Trust Fund (CTF), and the Alabama Network of Family Resource Centers (ANFRC). Each partner contributes to improving health access, family support, and regional planning efforts across Perry County.

By combining health services with community outreach, Sowing Seeds of Hope continues to expand access to care and strengthen support systems for local families.
