Students in Perry County participated in a week of hands-on learning during Seed Camp, held July 5–8 in partnership with Alabama Cooperative Baptist Fellowship and volunteer teams from Vestavia Hills Baptist Church and Baptist Church of the Covenant.
Throughout the week, volunteers worked with students participating in summer enrichment programs at Francis Marion School and R.C. Hatch School. Activities focused on STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) learning and were designed to encourage curiosity, creativity, and teamwork.
Seed Camp has become an annual tradition in Perry County. Each year, volunteers travel from across Alabama to support local summer learning initiatives while building relationships with students and educators in the community.
Sowing Seeds of Hope is grateful for the leadership of Lucas Dorion and Alabama CBF, who help coordinate the volunteers and resources that make the program possible, and Perry County Schools teachers and administrators who allowed volunteers to be part of their students’ summer learning schedule.
