Sowing Seeds of Hope completed its most recent Certified Nursing Assistant training cohort on June 28.
Twenty participants completed the course and passed their certification exam. Several graduates have already accepted positions as certified CNAs. Remaining participants are receiving ongoing support through the job search and placement process.
The course was offered in partnership with Career Health Services Academy, a healthcare training provider based in Pelham that prepares students for careers in patient care and other healthcare fields through hands-on training programs.
Sowing Seeds of Hope’s CNA program is part of its workforce development initiative, helping local residents gain skills that lead to stable employment while addressing workforce needs in the community.
Workforce development programs like CNA training provide pathways to healthcare careers for residents of Perry County and the surrounding Black Belt region.
