On August 14, 2025, Sowing Seeds of Hope hosted a mobile pantry food distribution in partnership with the Selma Area Food Bank.
During this distribution, volunteers helped provide food for 140 households in Perry County. Community members assisted with organizing and distributing groceries to ensure that families had access to essential food items.
The Selma Area Food Bank serves as a regional hub for food assistance, partnering with community organizations to deliver resources to households throughout the Black Belt region of Alabama. Their mobile pantry program allows local churches and nonprofits to address ongoing food insecurity in their communities by distributing grocery items sourced by the food bank.
By serving as a mobile pantry site, Sowing Seeds of Hope continues to strengthen its efforts to support families and increase access to food resources across Perry County.
Volunteers are needed for future distributions. Please contact the Sowing Seeds of Hope office at 334-683-4666 for more information.
