April is nationally recognized as Child Abuse Prevention Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness about child abuse and neglect while promoting prevention efforts that strengthen families and protect children.
On April 11, 2025, Sowing Seeds of Hope partnered with the Central Alabama Regional Child Advocacy Center to host a pinwheel garden planting at the Perry County Courthouse. Pinwheels serve as a national symbol of child abuse prevention, representing the hope of safe, healthy childhoods.
SSOH staff were joined by elected officials, educators, and community leaders in recognizing the importance of collective responsibility in protecting children.
Sowing Seeds of Hope also continues its parenting education work through support from the Children’s Trust Fund of Alabama, which funds evidence-based parenting programs designed to strengthen families and reduce risk factors associated with abuse and neglect.
Through awareness events and ongoing education initiatives, Sowing Seeds of Hope remains committed to supporting safe and nurturing environments for children in Perry County.
