As of 10:00 pm on Monday, May 4, the Alabama Department of Public Health has confirmed 16 cases of COVID-19 in Perry County, according to their surveillance dashboard. Bibb County currently has 42 cases, Hale has 56, Greene has 61, and Marengo has 66. ADPH also reports 72 cases in Wilcox County, 65 cases in Dallas County, and 58 cases in Chilton County.
There has been a considerable increase in the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases since Governor Ivey’s stay-at-home order expired on April 30. Please continue to help keep Perry County’s numbers low by staying at home as much as possible, washing your hands regularly, following social distancing requirements whenever you must go out, and keeping your nose and mouth covered when you interact with people who do not live with you.
If you are feeling sick, if you have a fever or other COVID-19 symptoms, or if you have come into close contact with someone who has tested positive for the coronavirus, please self-isolate and call your healthcare provider for advice about your best course of action.
