Sowing Seeds of Hope honored Perry County’s first responders and their families at a luncheon on Monday, February 17.
Personnel from each fire department, law enforcement agency, and other first responders organization were recognized individually.
The Greenleaf Missionary Baptist Church youth choir performed two musical selections and had a special time of prayer for first responders.
Frances Ford reminded attendees that February is Heart Health Month and shared information about the signs of heart attack and stroke.
Judge Don McMillan brought remarks, noting that being a first responder was a “true calling” because of the often unseen and underappreciated sacrifices that emergency personnel make on behalf of the community.
A total of 55 people were in attendance for the event, which was coordinated by Anne Robinson of the Sowing Seeds of Hope Self-Help Housing Program.
