On November 18, Sowing Seeds of Hope volunteers and staff gathered with members of First Presbyterian Church of Tuscaloosa and Mountain Brook Baptist Church to pack over 300 grocery bags. Each bag contained groceries for a Thanksgiving meal to be prepared by a senior citizen in Perry County.

Local churches had the opportunity to nominate seniors in their congregations to receive the bags. Many local churches gave cash donations or collected can goods to supplement the funds and food provided by Sowing Seeds of Hope, First Presbyterian, and Mountain Brook Baptist.

This year, bags were packed and distributed to 326 families in Perry County.
